Product Description The high resolution, 10.1 megapixel EXILIM Zoom EX-Z200 featurea an EXILIM series first - a 4x optical zoom lens that can shoot as wide as 28 mm (equivalent). Also, in addition to the usual recognition technologies, the intelligence of this camera has been enhanced. Loved it, til it broke... September 25, 2009 S. Barton (Baltimore, MD) I loved my camera. I loved the different modes and all of the options. It took fantastic pictures even in low lighting. One feature I really liked was how you could zoom while making a movie, not many cameras do this. I, too, spent a lot of time researching before I purchased this camera. I had it for just over a year before I had the same lens problem. In addition, there is this tiny little gray piece of plastic that holds the battery in. Every time I changed the battery, it would fall out (smaller than a baby fingernail) and I'd be crawling on the floor to find it. When I lost it and contacted casio to send me a new piece I was told I'd have to send in my camera and have the whole battery compartment replaced. What? This piece was removable since the day I purchased it, but instead of mailing me a cheap piece of plastic, I have to pay a ridiculous amount of money? Well, bottom line, the camera takes great pictures and movies and is easy to use, but is not reliable.
I like it December 9, 2008 Lidya This camera has longer battery life compared to other point and shoot camera. I don't need to charge the battery everytime I want to go out. I use flash several times, yet the battery is still full.Image quality is good enough. It is a point-and-shoot camera after all.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with Casio and it is my first time using it. I've had this camera for 6 months now.
Buyer Beware October 21, 2008 Peter Barzen (Denver CO) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Research led me to the Casio Z200. I was very impressed with the written capabilites. Image quality is not on par with the Sony 7.1 mp I replaced. Not as focussed and the 28M or wide angle setting overly distorted pictures of buildings etc. However, as I became accustomed to the settings, the lens stopped working - it would not extend and closed only half way. Being only 10 days old, I was frustrated to have to send it back to the manufacturer at my cost while fall colors were happening. However, to have Casio come bakc and say that I must have dropped it and that I would have to pay almost the replacement price to have it repaired is unacceptable and leads me to believe that there is a serious engineering quality problem or flaw. I have had it returned to me (once again at my expense) and I will gladly send photos of the casio to anyone interesed to check for themselves that it doesn't have a nick or a scratch and was never dropped.
Buyer Beware - avoid the Casio Z200
Good camera while it worked October 4, 2008 H. Ham (Holdrege, NE USA) I purchased this camera four months ago and loved it until all of a sudden it quit - lens error. Casio charges more than the camera is worth to fix it.
LOVE IT! July 5, 2008 Steph in Charlotte (Steph in Charlotte) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was replacing my sony cybershot and needed a camera that didn't take "fuzzy" pics. This is the ONE...close ups, great zoom, multi-shots of a series...it is phenomenal. And So cute!! You won't be disappointed!
