Product Description Samsung's new SL30 combines all the technology you need, but at an affordable price. The extremely stylish optical 3x zoom lens, 10-megapixel digital camera boasts a host of features to make it easier than ever to take high-quality photos. Samsung's innovative Face Detection technology detects the subject's face and automatically adjusts auto focus and auto exposure to ensure better composition and image quality for portraits. The in-built Beauty Shot mode retouches facial skin for a brighter and smoother skin tone - immediately making these cameras everyone's best friend. The premium quality SL30 also features Samsung's fast Digital Image Stabilization system, compensating for unwanted camera movement and subject blur - so pictures are always crisp and sharp focus.

Samsung SL30 May 26, 2010 Amy Valentine (Jacksonville fl USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had purchase this camera for college. I had it for a year now and some way my memeory card gets lock up. I went through two memory cards and it did it to both. I dont know how to get it to unlock. Now some people say its a battery hogger, well yes it is. I bought rechargeable batteries and it last alot longer.
Samsung Camera March 24, 2010 Melissa Kent (Fort Lauderdale, FL USA) My camera came in perfect condition and I love it. The quality is better than the previous digital camera I had from a different brand. The shots are clearer and it's very simple to use.
battery hogger March 7, 2010 Algorhythms (Boise, Idaho) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The camera is great to work with but is a battery hogger. We have used 2 AA alkaline batteries and it depletes with 15-20 clicks depending on how much flash was used. I would give it a 3 star for its great quality of images, user friendly menu and integration software. I will cut 2 stars from its performance because of its poor battery performance.
Great for casual use February 11, 2010 Natalie Deming (Rising Sun, MD) I bought this camera for my neighbor as a gift. It is not top of the line, but it is absolutely excellent for casual family photos. I would buy it again in a heartbeat, it is a great value.
Poor Picture Quality February 8, 2010 K. He (California, USA) Pros: Cheap, light, decent construction
Cons: Picture quality (lack of optical image stabilization), annoying delay after flash
I decided to buy this camera because of the very agreeable price and multiple reviews claiming it had "great picture quality". My experience is the complete opposite.
I noticed a problem with the very first picture I took, and tried about 20 more with only a couple turning out halfway decent. I do not claim to be a professional photographer or even a good one, but I suspect this is due to the so-called "digital-image stabilization". While claimed as a feature, this is no excuse for the lack of an optical image stabilizer. The camera basically increases the ISO to compensate for movement, which leads to high distortion especially in indoor scenes. The images look okay when zoomed out, but once I zoom in all the way or view them on my computer, no one in their right mind could claim this was "good picture quality".
In short: Do NOT buy if you need high resolution images. I pretty much got what I paid for, but I was greatly misled by the user reviews.
